Nick Mardner, a wide receiver from Cincinnati, and Brian Battie, a running back from USF, are transferring to the Plains for the 2023 season.

The Premier Players Foundation of Tampa announced Thursday that Derick Hall, a senior captain for the Tigers, is the recipient of the Solomon Community Spirit Award. As a three-year starter with 147 career tackles and 18.5 sacks, the defensive lineman has made a clear impact on the field. 

Tuberville, who led the Auburn football team from 1999-2008, acknowledged Freeze's past problems at Ole Miss but said the new coach deserved a "second chance."

The Auburn coaching search continues after a long week of rumors surrounding Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin ended with Kiffin telling ESPN’s Chris Low that he is staying in Oxford, as reports have also indicated that Kiffin will sign an extension. 

The grades for Auburn following its third straight loss to Alabama. The Tigers fell to the Crimson Tide 49-27.

When Carnell ‘Cadillac’ Williams took over as the interim head coach, he inherited a program that was in a state of disarray not seen around the Plains since the dreaded 2012 season. Auburn was 3-10 in its last 13 games and fighting for bowl eligibility after a blowout loss at home to Arkansas. 

It is almost impossible not to be excited about what is happening at Auburn University and with its football team. Carnell "Cadillac" Williams is only three games in as head coach and already seems to have changed the momentum. 

The latter half of the 1970s and the first two years of the 1980s were part of a long dry spell for the Auburn Tigers against their in-state rivals, the Alabama Crimson Tide.
