“Joe Biden Inherited a Recovery and Created a Recession, When Joe Biden took office in January of 2021, he inherited a booming COVID recovery from the Trump Administration. His economic prescriptions have now had a year to be absorbed by the economy and it's clearly bad medicine. All of his policies on issues from energy, to dealing with supply chain issues, to inflation, have led to this economic mess.," said Rep. Aderholt.
"Biden, Pelosi, and Schumer have only worsened the economic crisis facing Americans with their out-of-control socialist spending and anti-American energy policies," said Rep. Mike Rogers.
In comments given to 1819 News, Alabama Republican U.S. Senate nominee Katie Britt criticized the Biden administration for its response to a possible recession and blamed it for the inflationary woes plaguing the U.S. economy.

The freshman congressman called it "embarrassing" and referenced accusations from Biden and his allies that the Saudi prince was responsible for the killing of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

On Tuesday the Commerce Department reported that retail and food service spending posted a 0.3% decline in May. Retail sales turned negative in May as consumers pulled back spending while inflation surged. Republican leaders have been critical of President Biden's economic policies, which they claim exacerbated the inflation especially soaring fuel prices.
