The minimum goal, at least for the Belgium Korfball team coming into the World Games in Birmingham, was to make the gold medal game. The Belgium did just that on Saturday with a down-to-the-wire 19-18 win Chinese Taipei. Now the hard part starts. Next up is the Netherlands.

Canada claims another World Games gold medal in lacrosse

Once again, Birmingham showed up to support lacrosse. Once again, Canada spoiled the party by securing the gold medal. This time, the Canadian women’s lacrosse team saved its best for last with a decisive fourth quarter in a 14-12 victory over the U.S. before more a noisy crowd of 2,000 at PNC Field on the UAB campus.
