Alabama gun owners do not need another symbolic gesture. We need lawmakers to use the power voters gave them and pass a permanent repeal of state and local sales taxes on firearms, ammunition, magazines, suppressors, and related gear.

Freedom is loving God the Father, giving up a broken and contrite heart to Him – just as God the Son gave up his spotless heart to wash away all crimson sin.  And liberty is believing in what He, through Christ Jesus, has done for you and me, sealed by the Holy Spirit so that we may love one another in a thanksgiving of everlasting fraternity.

It’s time Congress made sure the price at the pump reflects that dominance, not the panic trades of people who never drilled a well, refined a drop, or ran the logistics. It’s time we take the power away from the Arab world.

It’s not the Alabama Supreme Court that lacks the standing to evaluate law schools. It’s the ABA that has forfeited, through decades of mission creep, cost inflation, and ideological adventurism, its claim to function as the disinterested guardian of American legal education.

A society can teach people how to make a living, but if it never teaches them how to live, we risk becoming soulless, one-dimensional servants to AI rather than thoughtful citizens of a free nation.

Nuclear weapons are in a destructive category of their own. For example, if Iran targeted our State Capitol in Montgomery, Ala., with a crude nuclear weapon, the fireball at the center of the blast would vaporize everything for roughly three city blocks in each direction.

Until both progressives and neoconservatives are willing to confront that reality, the cycle will continue with more programs, wars and promises that the next intervention will finally succeed where all the others failed.

People do not get the death penalty because they did minor crimes. They get it for brutal and depraved murders of children, friends, relatives and strangers. It is in the state’s best interest to move these executions along. It is cruel to the victims’ families to wait 20+ years to see justice.

Real, lasting protection for unborn children requires federal action.

When we feel as if hope is lost and we are too exhausted to persevere, we must remember that we petition the one, true God who cannot be controlled by men and whose power raised Christ from the dead.

Good intentions get good photo ops, but the road to Hell is indeed paved extensively by them … at taxpayer expense.

Some say the ayatollah may torture his own people as much as he wants, provided he leaves the rest of us alone. But do we ever reach a point at which we must say, “Enough is enough”?

For over a decade, the Human Rights Campaign’s (HRC) Corporate Equality Index (CEI) has operated less like a voluntary survey and more like a protection racket with a glossy annual report. Then, rather suddenly, it wasn’t.

How much more ironic can it be that Alabama’s CAR increased between 2018 and 2024 statewide … yet our state superintendent of education boasts about having the nation’s lowest rate? The issue has not been solved; it has worsened.

It’s time to address the health care crisis in rural Alabama. Sending millions in higher insurance premiums to a few companies is not the answer.

A church’s role is not to serve political parties, but to speak clearly about moral truth. When political leaders support policies protecting liberty and justice, churches should be free to affirm those candidates.

While we are appalled at the fraud in D.C. and Minnesota, we often fail to realize that such massive corruption always starts on a small scale. When bypassed or ignored, corruption spreads like kudzu.

I’ve worked to make sure Alabama producers have a seat at the table – whether that’s advocating for our peanut growers, pushing for strong disaster programs, or fighting for policies that protect family farms from excessive regulation.

Regulation cannot quietly appear simply because families participate in an education funding program. Yet the current narrative suggests otherwise – that homeschool families who accept education funds are somehow ushering in regulation or contributing to the loss of homeschooling freedom. That claim places an unfair burden on families who are simply trying to make the best educational decisions for their children.

Across the country, online public education has become an important option for parents. In Alabama, we have several options, including K12-powered academies: Alabama Destinations Career Academy, Alabama Virtual Academy, and Legends Virtual Academy.

[God] is not far from any of us. It might seem that way, for our efforts, including my own, tend to push Him away. But in the end, our efforts are puny compared to his enormous staying power.

Alabama needs a few legislators willing to stop fearing the cartel-like pressure inside that caucus, start their own conservative caucus built around the actual Republican platform, and finally say out loud what many have only been willing to whisper.
