Teach your children to know and love truth. Your children will thank you, and so will your countrymen.

To go almost anywhere east of Alabama's state capital, you go Interstate 85. It has stories along its 668 miles.

The “Summer Reading programs” are kicking off soon in every public library, so if you have children, grandchildren, church or neighborhood groups, let’s all work together to encourage the love of reading, resulting in Alabama leading the way in reading proficiency and summer fun!

The Fifth Amendment Due Process Clause does not have a fixed meaning. It requires fundamental fairness, which at the very least includes advance notice and the right to be heard. But how detailed and formal these requirements must be may vary on a case-by-case basis. 

Shaming, when done in the spirit of genuine concern for the state of someone’s very soul and for the state of our society, isn’t about humiliating; it’s about helping to guide people toward the True, the Good, and the Beautiful.

HB30 is not a partisan gimmick or bureaucratic overreach. It’s a common-sense measure requiring counties to conduct post-election audits after every general election.

HB445 neither bans all hemp-derived THC products, nor does it legalize recreational marijuana. What it does is introduce common sense controls on substances that are already federally legal.

At no point has any API employee made any reference to Rep. Whitt or his integrity regarding his sponsorship of HB445. But API has been consistent for many years regarding the negative societal impacts of the legalization and recreational use of illegal drugs.

Most politicians seem to let their unrestrained ambition lead them from one thing to the next with no clear destination defined all as the political winds buffet their aims to-and-fro until eventually they fall with angels’ pride.

Alabama’s rural areas have their own unique challenges that must be met, tackled and resolved, and as leader of the Alabama Senate, I have spent much of my time bringing laser-like focus to accomplishing this mission.

We needn’t agree with opinions and ideas that flow out of the Vatican. Yet given past encyclicals and their relevance to the culture, all Christians and preservationists of Western culture would do well to pay attention when the pope speaks.
